Youth Ministry
EYC
St. Peter’s welcomes all youth grades 6-12 to participate in EYC (Episcopal Youth Community). We meet every Sunday evening from 5-7 pm. We start our time together by sharing a meal provided by one of our parishioners in the Bracewell Room, followed by an activity. Each month, the program includes service, formation, and fellowship activities. We usually close our time together with a brief night prayer service called Compline.
Every May we honor our departing graduating seniors and officially welcome our rising 6th graders at Youth Sunday. Rising 6th graders are welcome to participate in EYC events throughout the summer.
ChattEY
Several times each year all Chattanooga area youth gather for ChattEY, with each Episcopal Church in the area taking turns hosting.
Sunday School
On Sunday Mornings, we meet in the Youth Room downstairs, outside the Bracewell Room from 9:30-10:15. We use a curriculum from Illustrated Ministry to guide our discussions each week, centering around the lectionary readings. We start each class with a recap of our weeks, followed by a reading and discussion of the scripture and a game or activity. Come ready to engage and be inspired! All you need to bring is yourself.
Acolytes
Youth acolytes are open to all kids and youth starting in 3rd grade. They serve during the 10:30 service as crucifer or torch bearers, and are assigned on a rotating schedule. Several times a year our acolytes may also serve as thurifers or banner-bearers. We offer two acolyte trainings per year, one during advent and one during Lent. Our next training will be December 6, 2026. Please contact Jamie Holodak if you are interested in becoming an acolyte.

Confirmation
Confirmation is open to youth starting in 9th grade. If your youth is interested in being confirmed, please reach out to Youth Director Jamie Holodak for more information on the schedule for classes. The next date for Confirmation will be January 17, 2027.
Diocesan Events
St. Peter’s youth participate in several diocesan retreats each year, including Happening in the fall (grades 9-12), Winter Camp in January (grades 9-12), and New Beginnings in the spring (grades 6-8). Churches from all over East Tennessee send youth to gather in community at these events, which are student-led and supported by diocesan clergy and youth workers.
Our youth also are regularly represented in the Diocesan Youth Council, a leadership council that helps guide and shape youth presence, events, and ministry across the diocese. The council also sends youth delegates to Diocesan Convention every year.

Grace Point Camp
Grace Point offers one week summer camp sessions for youth from rising 4th grade through just graduated. Camp is a great opportunity for youth to connect with their peers across the diocese. For more information on summer camp sessions, please visit the Grace Point website.
