Centering prayer is a form of silent, contemplative prayer designed to cultivate a deeper awareness of God's presence. It's a practice of simply sitting with God in silence, allowing thoughts and feelings to pass without judgment, and gently returning to the sacred word when the mind wanders. The goal is not to control the mind, but to become more present to God and the divine reality within.
