COVID Policies Update

Dear Friends,

I'll be happy for the day when I'm not regularly writing to you with updated policies for our life of worship and community. To that end, I reiterate my plea from last week that all in our church who are eligible for the vaccine with very few exceptions should be vaccinated as soon as possible. For now, I ask you to continue to be flexible, as our policies are likely to change over the next few months.

Our COVID Task Force wants to underline that the CDC suggests the use of the map found here to stay informed about the level of community spread. We will continue to monitor this and other resources as we make decisions. Right now we are above the "moderate" transmission level in our community, therefore our current policy is as follows:

·         Masks are required in worship for everyone, regardless of vaccination status. Small children are asked to wear masks as able.

·         The choir, who are 100% vaccinated, may remove masks during singing but will wear them at other times.

·         The clergy, lectors, and intercessors may remove masks while speaking.

·         Breakfast and coffee hour will allow for removing of masks while eating, but those living with unvaccinated or immune-compromised people may wish to eat at a 6-foot distance from other people and groups. Please be mindful of those choosing to take this approach!

·         Small groups, where the vaccination status of everyone is known, will be free to meet without masks.

·         We will continue to offer communion in both kinds, but I remind you that it is likely safest for you only to receive the bread right now.

As an additional reminder, please do not come to our worship services if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, no matter your vaccination status. We live-stream our services weekly, and would love for you to join us there!

Again, these policies will be in place for now, and we will adjust them as the local metrics allow. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

God Bless,
Fr. Quinn+
